PGNiG, PGG, JSW and Tauron to cooperate on extraction of coal bed methane (CBM)
Executives of the mining and energy companies have signed a letter of intent in Katowice to streamline the development of the Geo-Metan project, which will help increase Poland’s output of natural gas, reduce coal production costs and improve the safety of miners working underground.
Record-high natural gas sales from Poland (PGNiG) to Ukraine
In just seventeen months – from August 2016 until December 2017 – Polish Oil and Gas Company has delivered over 1 bcm of natural gas to the Ukrainian market. PGNiG’s supplies of gas to Ukraine have doubled in 2017 reaching over 700 mcm a year. This confirms the Company’s increasing role on the gas market of Central and Eastern Europe.
Flow test results from Rizq-2 appraisal well in Pakistan exceed expectations
The appraisal well flowed at a rate four times faster than during initial testing. Once connected to the production facilities, the well will add approximately 140,000-170,000 m3 to PGNiG’s daily natural gas output in Pakistan (around 124,000–148,000 m3 of high-methane equivalent). Total production from PGNiG’s Pakistani fields will reach 1 mcm of natural gas per day (approximately 850,000 m3 of high-methane equivalent).
