The selected candidate must have proven experience in preparing a company for own exploration drilling activities, must demonstrate experience in leading a drilling project organization and show examples of successful execution of drilling and well project operations in Norway. The candidate will be using own previous experience in developing and updating PGNiG’s Management Systems for exploration drilling and in preparing the company for future drilling projects as an Operator.

In periods with no own drilling operations, the candidate must in addition have proven experience in providing discipline advice in the areas of project planning and execution, production operations, drilling management and well engineering, as well as providing asset management support to our existing production and development assets in partner committees.



  • Manager responsible for preparing and delivering the first exploration drilling project for the company as Operator in Norway
  • Assist the HSEQ Manager in updating the Management System to comply with the relevant Norwegian rules and regulations
  • Provide input and updates to the Risk Matrix for licenses and influence risk assessments in production licenses and ensure that operators keep an up to date risk register
  • Execute the “See to it duty” for Partner operations to ensure that technical, operational and HSEQ requirements are set for the full life cycle of offshore facilities and compliant with company and regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical support for non-operated production and exploration assets. Represent the company in selected RC (drilling and wells part), TC and MC license committees, industry fora and research programs.
  • Influence work program and budgets in production licenses
  • Assist Business Development department in asset valuations and provide input to licensing rounds
  • Participate in planning, executing and follow up of safety and  technical reviews



  • Minimum 20 years of broad experience from drilling operations, well engineering, project development, production operations and maintenance of offshore topside and subsea facilities
  • Previous experience with drilling and production facilities design and construction projects
  • Provide quality assurance for drilling programs, well engineering and operations supervision
  • Drilling rig and well services contractor management
  • Must have a multi-discipline understanding of HSE, drilling, subsurface, facilities, production and field operations, commercial and project priorities and issues
  • Collaborative and influencing skills
  • Good leadership skills
  • Fluent in English



  • Master of Science, Bachelor of Science or similar degree
